Why is it when someone says something which makes us feel uncomfortable, rather than go off crazy on their stupid ass, we tend to swallow it down and suck in our gut and move past it as quickly as we can, so as to not “hurt THEIR feelings.” The next time that happens to me, I will forego the sympathy on their stupid ass and open up a can of you-know-what.

This weekend, I was at a house warming/birthday party for a friend of mine. Granted………I was the only black person there. So, this is directed at them stupid white people who think they are being funny and saying something so derogatory it leaves you standing there stupefied.

Case in point:

The conversation was centered on the wolves who have been attacking pets and other animals in the area. We discussed a particular incident in a neighboring town where a man was walking his dogs and a wolf attacked and killed the dog. One person mentioned how some people are so upset at the wolf situation that they will hang a big chunk of meat on a meat hook and when the wolf jumps up to grab the meat, he will get “hooked.” I kinda like that idea. Hehehehehehe

Anyway, I mentioned that I had seen this junk yard in my town where this man had a couple of wolves “hanging” on a pole in his yard and a few more laying around on the ground. One of the men in the group advised me that the person with that “display” was someone who collected the pelts and made things from them. I said that the image was eerie to me and a bit creepy to see the wolves hanging like that.

Now, pay attention – there was an elderly couple there who seemed to be very nice. The lady tried several times to strike up idle chit-chat with me. Her husband was the “jokester” of the group and had something funny to say to everyone else’s comments. He had a big picture of duct tape on his sweatshirt with the words “I can fix anything” and most of the folks thought that was funny and made comments about it, so that just fueled his fire. After my comment about the hanging wolves in the junk yard…….this stupid old ass white muhfukka said – and I quote “Oh, that’s just to remind you of what it was like in Georgia.”

SILENCE – dead silence overtook the whole group and old ass let out a chuckle that let me know he was tickled pink with what he had just said. Now, I had been drinking Hypnotiq so my mind was in an altered state as it was, and I just sat there trying to comprehend and digest what I had heard. After a bit, I went inside and told the hostess what happened and she was flabbergasted just as I was. I have a feeling the both of us won’t be invited to the same gatherings again, because I made it clear that I am pulling off the kid gloves from now on and I will go steel off on the next fool. I am tired of “protecting” stupid people’s feelings.

Now, you know the first thing they gon say is “oh, that black girl is so mean.” Damn right!!

I never win anything.......that is, until this past Christmas. I won the gift basket at my job!! It was a beautiful handwoven basket with a Wells Fargo blanket and a Wells Fargo mug with 2 packets of hot chocolate. yummmmy!! It also had in it a gift card for $30.00 to eat at a local restaurant, which I absolutely love. I took my girl Tammy with me for dinner a couple weeks ago and we had enough for drinks and dinner!! Thanks Wells Fargo.

I am about to turn 48 on April 10th, and had been wondering about what I would do to celebrate. I really don't do much celebrating of the passing years, except maybe a nice dinner with friends or possibly going out to the club. I never work on my birthday, a rule I have had since turning 40. I went to Cancun, Mexico for my 40th and hope to do something just as spectacular for my 50th. In the meantime, it is just "another day."

This year, I am going to Las Vegas for one of my girlfriend's birthday in July, and you damn well know I will make it a celebration of my birthday as well, as I have never been to Vegas and this will certainly be a treat to remember.

A friend of mine gave me an early birthday present on Tuesday - April 3rd. I got a chance to witness history in the making. We went to the Grand Theatre in Wausau and saw B.B. King perform live. It was an awesome show and a sold out audience!! I could not keep still in my seat. Man, even at 81 years of age, B.B. still rocked the house. He ended the show with "The Thrill is Gone" and that was the hit of the night!! I am so glad I got to be a part of that. For me, the thrill was not gone, but ever present. I think this birthday Month is shaping up quite nicely.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me on April 10th
